"Luring of Enkidu"

Choose one topic and respond to it with CREATIVITY. Be interesting!

1) You are the casting director for the movie, "The Luring of Enkidu."  Who would you cast in the following roles, and why?  Enkidu, Harim, Gilgamesh.

2) With McVader in mind, how might you "rewrite" one portion of "Luring..." by putting it into another era/dimension?

3) What do you KNOW won't happen next? Ok to be humorous, but not so silly that it is not funny to your main audience, Ms U.

Enkidu ready for the city!

  1. If I were to cast a movie of "The Luring of Enkidu, with our classmates in mind, I would choose Zoe for Harim. Only because, I know she is a good actress, and I can see her for Harim. She has the charm and kindness to be the perfect Harim. For Gligamesh, I would choose Ethan. I love his little voices and he could be a good king. For Enkidu...I'm not quite sure who I would choose. But, since I know how Mckay does Enkidu...I would either choose Duncan or Mckay. Duncan is a good actor who could probably pull of a crazy, wild, but kind guy.

  2. I would cast Viggo Mortensen as Gilgamesh, because he portrayed Aragorn in the Lord Of The Rings so well. He somehow was able to look Kingly and like a great warrior and well- a human being, without any apparent difficulty. I imagine Gilgamesh as being much like Aragorn, and if Viggo did it once, he could do it again.
For Enkidu I would have Sean Bean. He played Boromir in The Lord of The Rings (sorry, but Peter did such a good job casting for that film). I could just imagine him standing in the middle of a forest clearing, looking perfectly content, but also give you the feeling he could rip you limb from limb if he was annoyed.
Natalie portman would probably play Harim, because just as she did with Padme in Star Wars, I could easily have her once again be a brave and fearless heroine. She could also be so gentle and confused (right before anakin swooped in to rescue her) and I could TOTALLY see her decked out in a priestess' robes.

  4. I know that the story will NOT end by Duncan teleporting from 1020 with a time machine and "kidnap" Enkidu. Also the story will NOT end with Harry Potter magically appering and destroying all of Mesopotamia.

  5. The story would definitly not end with a giant gremlin appearing out of nowhere and making Enkidu his servant. It also will not end with Hiram turning evil and killing Enkidu or doing something else bad with him

  6. If I were a director, I would cast Jhonny Depp as Enkidu, because he in my mind could grow out a long beard, and would be perfect. For Harim I would have Hope, because she is a good actress and is very dramatic(when acting). For Gilgamesh it would be cast by Ben Stiller because he is in some funny movies and my movie would be somewhat funny.

  7. I have a slight feeling that this story will not end as follows:
Set 500 years in the future.......
Enkido decides that he still doesn't feel accepted in the city-state, so hops into a space ship and travels to Mars. He joins one of the colonies and then breaks all of the tracking devices. Harim becomes depressed because her "love" has left her, so has the same idea. She instead travels to Jupitar, and when she realizes that Enkido is not there, she packs up to go home. Then, she spots a man doing the same thing. She approaches him, and already, they know that their meeting was meant to be.
"Harry, that's what you can call me" he remarks
They realize that there is very little chance of them finding who they are looking for, so enter the portal to go back to Earth.
"No, this can't be" says Harim.
They realize that the portal is broken. They decide that they will just have to start up a new life here.

Here, the 2nd civilization is established. "MesopotamiaVille"

  8. This isn't quite what would happen next:
Enkidu is bitten by a radioactive spider, and becomes Spiderman's evil twin. No. I'm not talking about Venom.
Anyway... he goes rampaging around the city in search of the magical lollipop, which is in ancient Sacramento, singing Justin Bieber songs. He injures the ears of everyone in the city-state except for Harim, who was wearing earmuffs. She cajoles him into becoming Homer Simpson, and then he runs around like a gymnast. RANDOMNESS!

  9. Whoops! I posted that, not Grogor, my dad, who was still signed in to his google account. Any way, why is everyone reffering to Duncan. And if I was Ethan, I'm Mr. Peanut, I would be thanking Dyllie right now.

  10. EXTRA CREDIT

Well I would cast Michael as enkidu because he would fit the costume and would grumble perfectly. Emily would be Harim because she is so nice. Duncan would be Gilgamesh because he always want a part of stuff and would cool in a crown.

  12. Thanks Dyl! I could so see Phillip as king Gilgamesh. He seems like he could play a really proud, really powerful leader. He also seem that he could easily terminate people. For Enkidu who do you think I'm going to say? Duncan, for sure. Yesh he can definitely be silly, but he can be serious as well. Harim would be hard..... super beatiful, strong but gentle. I think I would have to say..... Madeline, the temptrees!!!!!! That might be a problem though,:( all the boys might melt backstage.

  13. Enkidu and Harim would go into the city amd Enkidu would run away, so he could be with the wild animals agian. Harim would find Enkidu an try to make him a human agian, but he would run away, so he can become an animal.
