  2. I love this painting. It looks like an evil castle and wind blowing in the air. The stars look the yellow puff balls in the sky. I like that he took the time to paint the thouses on the bottom. I like the mountains in the background.

  3. In this incredible painting, I mostly see the colors of blue and yellow. Yellow representing the light of the end of the tunnel (or in this case your life), and blue giving an almost dreamy look to it as the cyprus tree in the foreground points up as though everything is slowly floating away as the energy of the stars grows slowly greater.

  4. The style of painting makes it seem more extra terrestial. The cyprus tree looks skinny and passive, being blown by the wind, not having much say about what will happen to it. It's not sad, but it's somber.

  5. This appears at first to be a very shallow painting. Trees ovelooking a village. But, as you go deeper, you find that the artist truly thought it out. He shows that death is a part of life and he accepts it. The colors of the village are muted, while the night is bright. I can almost hear the calming Bach playing. The trees in the foreground are drawn like flames is interesting.

  8. This masterpiece makes me think of the first part of Pachebelle Cannon. It's full of blue and yellow, and their are many curved lines. The link will follow.

  9. When I look at the painting I see all the stars in the sky. It's a really good painting and the tree in the front with the stars shining behind it really makes it stand out. When I look at Starry Night I think of the stars in the sky. It shows a peaceful little village with the wind blowing through the air. The painting looks calm and peaceful and there's nothing disturbing the people in the village.

  10. This painting is amazing! I love the way the brushstrokes are swirling and floating around the paper. The colors I see are black, blue, yellow, orange, red, white, purple, and lots of different off colors. Some objects I see are houses, that big tree, mountains, the sky I think at night, and maybe a church in the middleground. All the swirles seem to lead to different places in the sky. It is a truly amazing painting.

  11. I think I somehow hear whatever a base harp would be. Very soft but very deep.

  12. I see a lot of curvy lines, and a lot of blue and yellow. In the background, there is a series of lines that all lead to a small, chapel-like house. I hear soft, but somewhat fast paced music played. Wind noises would be played throughout the piece.

  13. I have such a history with this painting; in third grade I even recreated it for a project!
In this painting, I see lines galore. The tree's tip, base, and the moon create a triangle. There are wavy lines in the background, i.e. clouds. In fact, the entire sky is made up of tiny lines.
There is a lot of music in this painting. One song I can see is "Midna's Lament." ML is a soft song, entirely composed of piano. It is very peaceful and could easily be an embodiment of "Starry Night". ML can be listened to at http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/search/song?q=Midna's%20Lament%20cam%20wilkinson

  14. This painting glowes with briliantness... literaly! It could make a person who is very.... numbskulled with very few brain cells look at it and think.... What IS this about? It's something different to everyone who looks at it... Mountains, a castle, stars, "puff balls". You don't have to be a geneous, or the equivelent, a Manchester GATEr, to notice how mysteriousely and seriousely beatiful this painting is. It's a true piece of beatiful art with the twists and turns of life. Thank you Van Goh!!!!!

  15. I guess I should comment on one of the questions now. I see a bunch of blue and yellow in the sky. In the city down below I see some purple. In the front there is something black, it seems it has a purpose. Maybe its job is to look over the city and gaurd, maybe it's a castle that belongs to the king or ruler of the land. I wish Vincent Van Goh were alive so he could explain his emotions while painting this beatiful piece of art!

  16. Like pretty much everyone said, I love this piece of artwork. As I look at this I hear Spring from the Four Seasons in slow motion, from how the curved lines attract my attention to all the stars in the dark blue sky. I especially enjoy following the streaks to the giant star in the top right corner. I also see how this painting represents death, though not in a dark gloomy way someone would expect. I think of it as showing one's adventure to the stars after they die, which is probably close to what Van Gogh was inspired by. With the mountains in the backround underneath the beautiful sky, the huge tree in the foreground, and the small town below, no one could possible confuse this for a gloomy scene!

  17. To me, Starry Night is a different type of painting I'm used to seeing , yet it is very unique and beautiful. In the distance I see a midevil town, covered in soft moonlight, the sun having just set. In the right hand corner I see the sun and the moon meeting in the sky, one shadowing the other. I also find it interesting that Van Gogh uses a different kind of painting technique that looks as if the painting itself is made out of colorful lines. In the sky it looks like the lines are even bolder, drawing your eye across the white swirls in the blue sky. To me some music that would go with Starry Night is Bach. The calmnesss of the music, but in some places the erieness and crescendos would compliment the painting. One reason I really like this painting is, because the colors that are used, blues, purples, green, white, and yellow are very soothing to me and are my favorite colors.

  18. This painting has a mix of purple, yellow, blue, and black colors. It makes me think of calm, peacefull Bach. In it I see a town, a large tree, and mountains on a moonlit night. It is a beautifull peace of art.

  19. I see purples, blues, yellows, and a mixture of black with different colors. I see the moon, stars, and buildings. Personally, the lines lead my eyes to the city. This painting is absolutely amazing.

  20. I saw a tree, a small town with a church, amd amoon shinning bright in the dark night. The mountain in the back round.
I see curfy linesgoing into a curly line. Some are strait.
Line leads into thre middel of the picture.Fallowing the lines might make you dizzy for looking it around and around.
It has dark corlor ,but it seems to be a light thing, like a good thing.

  21. In this painting I see lots of lines. I see blue, yellow, purple , and black. It looks like gusts of wind over a silhouette castle. The lines go in every direction, and leads me in a spiral. I think a very soft yet very deep music, almost like Bach.

  22. I see mostly blues and yellows. I think the used those colors to represent blacks and white. This painting reminds me of a time when I was going down a hill and looking at a city from above. I hear slow music like peaceful maybe a harp.

  23. I see swirls which is wind. Then I see a city that is overlooked by a castle. The city is very calm, since it is night. I feel vey calm looking at this piece of art.The blue and black make me feel that way. Then the yellow mixed in with the blue an make I think is the reflection of the moon. This is a beautiful piece of art. I hear a beautiful harp piece with this art.
